Riding along in my automobile...

Well, over the past few weeks I've been shopping around for a new car (new to me at least). I finally found one that I liked and got the right price on. I decided on a 2004 Nissan Murano (considered an SUV crossover vehicle). It's a nice ride and still big enough to fit Watson. Here are a couple of pics:

Vegas, Baby!

I took a whirlwind trip to Las Vegas (my first) this past week.

Unfortunately, the trip wasn't for pleasure. I was out there for a meeting for work (actually just outside of Vegas). It was a whirlwind trip which put me in Nevada for less than 24 hours. I am pretty sure I spent more time on planes and in airports than actually in Las Vegas.

I did try to have a little fun while there though. By fun, I mean have a decent meal and lose some money at the blackjack table. I stayed at the Mirage, which is a very nice hotel/casino. It's even nicer because I got upgraded to a mack-daddy suite (yes, I just used the words "mack-daddy"... I know I'm cool). Below are some pictures of the suite. I didn't have much time to take pictures of anything else.

It even had a fancy water fountain in with the toilet!

There's a good chance I'll make it out there again (for work) in the next month or two, so I'll try to get some more pictures then.

Going over in a barrel...

In the previous post I covered the hockey portion of our trip to Canada. Now I'll get into the R&R portion. We ventured over to Niagara Falls for a couple of days (on the Canadian side) and fell into the tourist trap.

Canadian Falls...

American Falls...

A room with a view (our room in the Hilton)...

I thought about pushing my luck, and...

Melanie got attacked by a bear (or was she doing the attacking?)...

Us...in the tunnel behind the falls...

...on the Maid of the Mist...

All in all, we had a great time!

Just ice it!

Melanie and I ventured North of the border this past weekend for some hockey and some R&R. Our first stop was Toronto.
We went to Canada so I could play in a tournament with my hockey team, but before we played we had some time to go by the Hockey Hall of Fame.

And then came the hockey tournament...

We played three teams while there. We won 1 and lost 2, but put up a good fight and had a blast in the process.

Here's the team...The Unknowns... This one was a nail biter...Proof of our win...

I'll cover the Niagra Falls portion of the trip in my next post.
